Brief Thoughts from Bren: Advent

Advent has begun!

All of us at Koinonia hope you had a Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, delicious food, laughter, and a heaping plateful of joy.

Now comes the whirlwind—shopping, Black Friday, wrapping, Small Business Saturday, parties, Cyber Monday, shopping, Giving Tuesday, wrapping, parties, shopping, wrapping, parties, and the sprint to December 25. The world may have you spinning, but here’s our wish for you: slow down. Savor this sacred season. It won’t happen by accident—you’ll need to be intentional about finding those quiet, still moments. Here at Koinonia, we treasure the stillness of these four weeks and invite you to join us in stepping back and savoring the quiet.

Advent is here. It’s a time for preparation, but not the kind the world encourages. Make space to reflect on the birthday happening just six days before the end of the month. Take the time.

Happy Advent Season to you and yours,

Bren and all the folks at Koinonia Farm

  1. Thank you for these words. I do so need them right now as I slowly get entrapped by the hustle and bustle of shopping and preparing. Letting Jesus in every day makes the difference…… walking with Him, even talking with Him slows me down and fills me up. Again, thank you!
