Koinonia Farm is home to three core ministries: hospitality, sustainable farming, and internships. Additionally, we offer the Come, Stay Awhile & Serve program and Camp Koinonia, providing meaningful ways for visitors to experience life on our farm and connect with our mission.

Hospitality
Hospitality is at the heart of Koinonia’s mission and vision of “Joy through generous hospitality.” Since 1942, we have welcomed people from all walks of life—those of all faiths or no faith—to experience a way of life rooted in the teachings of Jesus. Whether visitors come for a meal, a tour, or a few nights, or stay longer through our Come, Stay Awhile & Serve or Internship programs, Koinonia remains a place of peace, renewal, and transformative community.
Internship
Koinonia’s internship program has been an integral part of our community for decades. Open to adults of all ages, this immersive program invites participants to fully engage in the day-to-day rhythms of communal life. Interns quickly become part of the Koinonia family while contributing to the farm’s mission of caring for both people and the land.

Sustainable Farming
At Koinonia, we believe that caring for the land is a sacred task, and our small farm reflects this commitment. Though modest in size, Koinonia is one of the few farms in Georgia certified to grow organic pecans, a testament to our focus on building healthy soil to produce healthy food. As a demonstration plot, we are eager to share our sustainable farming practices with other farmers, neighbors, and visitors. Through partnerships with Healthy Sumter and Jimmy Carter’s Boyhood Farm, we also help maintain community gardens throughout Sumter County, providing fresh, naturally grown produce to those in need and teaching sustainable practices to the broader community.
Come, Stay Awhile, & Serve
The Come, Stay Awhile & Serve (CSAS) program invites individuals and families to live and work at Koinonia for 1-3 months. In exchange for room and partial board, participants engage in daily tasks while enjoying the peaceful rhythm of life on the farm. During their stay, CSASers quickly become part of our community, sharing in the meaningful work that sustains our way of life.

Camp Koinonia

Camp Koinonia is a summer camp for youth ages 11-14, centered around human rights, social justice, and peacemaking. While enjoying farm life, campers learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and engage with the values of peace, justice, and community that have guided Koinonia since its founding in 1942.
